About the Qualification
ICT20219 Certificate II in Telecommunications Network Build and Operation prepares students for entry-level roles constructing and maintaining Australia's broadband infrastructure, including the NBN.
You'll develop practical skills across underground and aerial cable installation, fibre optic infrastructure, site preparation, coaxial cable jointing and lead-in installation — supported by network build activities on site.
Graduates are well prepared for entry-level roles across the NBN rollout, broadband access networks and civil telecommunications contractors throughout NSW and the ACT.
Licensing & Regulatory Information: Cabling work connected to a telecommunications network is regulated by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). ICT20219 focuses on network build and operation activities and does not, on its own, satisfy ACMA customer cabling registration requirements.

Course Structure
ICT20219 consists of 12 nationally recognised units of competency — 5 core units and 7 electives covering practical network build, cabling, safety and customer-service skills.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age to commence nationally recognised telecommunications network build training.
A Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment confirms readiness to interpret technical documentation and safety information.
A Pre-Training Review with ACTA College determines whether ICT20219 aligns with your goals and prior experience.
A valid USI is required for all nationally recognised training delivered in Australia.
Applicants must provide suitable photographic identification during the enrolment process.
